Ubyssey Photographers Unite!: Summer plugs and a new Photo Editor

Summer plugs and a new Photo Editor

So, it's that time again. You've finished school, you're writing exams, and hopefully looking towards a summer of bliss, relaxation, possibly back-breaking work that is only ever assigned to desperate students..

On that note, I'd like to let you know that, yet again, the reins have changed hands. My name is Geoff Lister and I will be working with the rest of the Ubyssey editorial board as your Photo Editor for the 2010/2011 year. I'm excited to get things rolling and really hope to see great new things from everyone.

That being said, the summer isn't just for relaxing. We will be working on stories all throughout the summer, albeit on a reduced, online-only schedule. We will still be looking for photographers to cover various pitches, from festivals to profiles and other events around campus and Vancouver.

I'll be sending out pitch lists both via email and posting again on the Ubyssey Photo Blog, a great resource which I will hope to use a lot more over the coming year both by posting regular pitch lists and interesting tidbits, photographers, news, etc. I hope to keep your RSS feed happy and sated.

Finally, what I would love to know, and to cut down on unnecessary emails, is who is still here over the summer and whether you will be available to shoot over the coming months. If you can email me confirming your summer status that would be most helpful, and even if you're not, shoot me an email if you're still interested in shooting in the coming year.

Thanks again for all your hard work!

Geoff
